License (EULA)
Last updated 22 October 2026
In short. Buy an app once and you can use it for as long as you like on up to 2 of your own Macs. Updates are free while we sell it. Don't share or resell your key. The app comes as it is, and what you load into it and do with it is on you.
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is between you and Shreyas Garehatti Sridhara, a sole proprietor trading as MegaMac ("we"). It applies to every MegaMac app you buy or install, including updates. The Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy also apply. By installing, activating or using an app, you accept this EULA.
1. The license
When you pay for an app, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use that app, for your own non-commercial purposes, on up to 2 Macs that you own or control, as long as you follow this EULA.
- Each license key works for the app or apps it was issued for.
- To move a license to another Mac, deactivate it on the old one first (in the app, or by contacting us).
- A bundle or pack is a set of separate licenses, one per app.
2. What you may not do
Except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction, you may not:
- share, publish, sell, rent, lend or transfer your license key, or use one key on more Macs than allowed;
- copy, modify, translate, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, or bypass or disable its activation or license checks;
- remove notices, or use our names, logos or icons as if you were us;
- use the app in breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or any law;
- use the app in any situation where its failure, false trigger or sound could lead to injury, damage or loss (it is not a safety, security, alarm, medical or monitoring tool).
3. Activation and license checks
- The first time you use an app, you paste your license key. The app sends the key and a device label to our payment and licensing provider, Dodo Payments, to activate it.
- About once a week, the app checks that the key is still valid. If it can't connect, the app keeps working for a grace period (at least 14 days) before asking you to reconnect.
- A key can be deactivated if the order is refunded, charged back, or found to be fraudulent, or for serious misuse under section 9.
- Details of the data involved are in the Privacy Policy.
4. Updates
- Updates are included. While we sell an app, you get its updates free. We aim to provide bug and security fixes for at least 2 years after you buy.
- Apps check for updates using the Sparkle update framework. Where the app offers the setting, you can turn automatic checks off.
- We don't promise any particular new feature, or that an app will keep working with future versions of macOS or future Macs.
- If we stop selling an app, it keeps working for as long as your Mac and macOS still support it. If we ever shut MegaMac down, we intend to release a final version of each app that doesn't need activation.
5. Your content
- Sounds, clips, recordings, images and settings you create or load ("your content") remain yours. They're stored on your Mac. We don't receive them.
- You're solely responsible for your content: for having the rights to use it (including copyright in music, film, TV and other audio), for the consent of anyone whose voice or image is in it, and for where and how it's played or shared.
- Built-in sounds and voices that come with an app are licensed to you for use inside the app only.
6. Features that need extra care
- Pranks and hidden modes. Use them only on Macs you own, or where the owner agrees. Apps always stay visible in your Applications folder and Activity Monitor, and quit normally.
- Camera. Camera features analyse images on your Mac to detect, for example, a face looking down. They don't identify people, and nothing is saved unless you choose to save it. Never point them at someone without their knowledge.
- Microphone. Used only when you record a sound yourself.
- Motion and trackpad sensing. A light tap is enough. Don't strike your Mac hard: any physical damage, and any warranty or AppleCare coverage lost because of it, is your responsibility.
- Flashes and sudden sounds. Some features flash the screen or play sudden sounds. Don't use them if you or anyone nearby is sensitive to flashing images or loud noise.
- Volume. Some apps can raise the volume to play your sound. Never use this on someone wearing headphones or earbuds, and keep volumes at safe levels.
7. Third-party components
Apps may include open-source or third-party components, which are licensed under their own terms (listed in the app's About window). Those terms take priority for those components.
8. Disclaimer and liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of detection, uninterrupted operation and non-infringement.
- The limits of liability and the indemnity in the Terms of Use apply to this EULA.
- If you're a consumer, you keep your statutory rights for digital content that is faulty or not as described, including the right to a fix, a price reduction or a refund where the law gives it. This EULA doesn't affect them. Otherwise, all sales are final: see the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
9. Ending the license
- You can end this license at any time by deleting the app.
- We may end it, and deactivate your key, if you seriously break this EULA or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your payment is refunded or reversed, or if the law requires it. Where fair and lawful we'll warn you first.
- When the license ends, you must stop using and delete the app.
10. Apple
Mac, MacBook and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. MegaMac is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Apple. Apple is not responsible for our apps or for supporting them.
11. Export and law
You may not use or export the apps where the law forbids it. This EULA is governed by the same law and dispute rules as the Terms of Use, including your consumer protections where you live.
